In aerospace and defense, there is very little room for failure.

Electronics used in aircraft, UAVs, radar, communications, navigation, guidance and other mission critical systems must perform reliably in some of the world’s most demanding environments. Moisture, chemicals, contamination, vibration, thermal cycling and temperature extremes can all affect performance and long term reliability.

At Advanced Coating, protecting those electronics is what we do. Located in Rancho Cucamonga, California, Advanced Coating has decades of experience supporting aerospace, defense, medical and other high reliability industries. Our capabilities include Parylene N, C, D and HT, precision masking and demasking, plasma treatment, controlled bake processes, detailed inspection, engineering support and underfill.

Parylene provides a highly uniform, lightweight conformal barrier through a chemical vapor deposition process performed under vacuum. Because the coating is deposited in the vapor phase, it conforms closely to complex geometries, components, leads and edges. This makes Parylene particularly well suited for advanced electronic assemblies where environmental protection, dielectric performance and minimal added weight are important.

But coating is only part of the process.

Advanced Coating has developed extensive expertise in precision masking and demasking for complex assemblies containing connectors, contacts, test points, grounding locations and other critical keep out areas. We approach preparation, masking, coating, demasking and inspection as one complete process.

Surface preparation is equally important. Our plasma processing capabilities can be used to prepare certain surfaces and promote coating adhesion. Controlled bake and drying processes can also be incorporated based on customer and application requirements.

Advanced Coating operates under an AS9100D and ISO 9001 certified quality management system and maintains ITAR compliance. As part of our continued investment in aerospace and defense, Advanced Coating is targeting NADCAP certification in 2026, further strengthening our ability to support the stringent processing and quality requirements of the aerospace supply chain.

Our newest capability, underfill, expands the protection we can provide for advanced electronics. Underfill can provide additional mechanical support beneath selected components and help distribute stresses associated with vibration, mechanical shock and thermal cycling. Combined with Parylene, this provides customers with both component level mechanical protection and environmental protection within one specialized operation.
